This post is a quick and easy guide on how to clean your dishwasher to eliminate bad odors!
Have you ever noticed a strange smell coming from your dishwasher? You might, like me, even think that you're doing a good job of cleaning everything you're supposed to in your kitchn, only to discover that when you open your dishwasher it smells absolutely disgusting. Believe it or not, this smell is actually caused by a buildup of food particles, grease, and soap scum in your dishwasher. Don't worry though, I learned that cleaning your dishwasher is a quick and easy process that can help keep your kitchen smelling fresh and your dishes looking amazing.
So, how do you clean a dishwasher?
The first step is to locate the little compartment you never knew existed, like me haha. This compartment is likely very dirty and may even make you want to gag when you see it. But don't worry, it's easy to clean. Simply spray it with a cleaning solution and scrub it with a brush. Once it's clean, put it back in place.
Next, you'll need to buy a dishwasher cleaner. There are many different brands to choose from, but my personal favorite is Lemi Shine. They offer a range of options at different price points, but I find that this brand works best for me. Once you have your cleaner, open your dishwasher and sprinkle it around the interior. Be sure to follow the instructions on the package for the best results.
Now, run your dishwasher on a regular cycle. I recommend using a soap and clean cycle for 7 hours. This should give the cleaner enough time to work its magic and break down any buildup that may be causing the odor. Once the cycle is finished, your dishwasher will be fresh and clean, and your dishes will come out looking better than ever.
Cleaning your dishwasher is a simple yet super important task that can help keep your kitchen smelling fresh and your dishes looking great. Remember to clean the little compartment you never knew existed , use a high-quality dishwasher cleaner, and run a regular cycle for the best results. By following these steps, you'll be able to enjoy a clean and odor-free dishwasher for years to come.
