Looking to create the most organized laundry room? Here are some of the best laundry room organization ideas you need to see!

Organized Laundry Room

I don't know about you, but until very recently, my laundry room was always the "I'll get to it later" space. I always wanted a super organized laundry room like you see on Pinterest, but I didn't think it was possible with my apartment laundry room.

I just finished organizing and decorating my apartment laundry room, and I have been extremely happy with it! If you've been putting off getting that organized laundry room you've always wanted, this is your sign. Go to the container store, hop on Amazon, or go to Target because it's time to grab some bins and get to organizing!

This post is all about organized laundry room inspiration.

THE BEST ORGANIZED LAUNDRY ROOM IDEAS:

1. Use Large Wicker Baskets For Storage

If you have open shelving options in your laundry room, it can be hard to keep them functional while still looking good. I would totally put big baskets like this in y shelving to separate laundry or even store laundry supplies like detergent and dryer sheets.

Everything looks better in a basket. You can find the best baskets at Home Goods and TJ Maxx that are super unique and fun! Love this look.

2. Have Open Shelving For Detergent and Decor

Okay, can we just take a second for this laundry room?? I'm not even going to get into the amazing laundry basket storage because that's a whole built-in situation. The open shelving behind the laundry basket shelf is what I want to talk about!

This shelf is the perfect place to store detergent and cleaning products but also to put a pretty plant and baskets! The last thing about this laundry room, I am absolutely obsessed with the herringbone brick flooring and the green paint color!

3. Hang Cleaning Tools On Pegs

Recreate this organized laundry room:

This laundry room is the perfect example of how you can have a sleek, Pinterest-worthy laundry room while still having stuff. Having a cabinet or two in your laundry room is seriously life-changing.

On the open shelving, they still have storage for cleaning supplies and random laundry supplies in the wicker baskets! The best part of this while laundry room is the pegs below the shelves to hand scrubbers, dusters, and more. I am obsessed with that detail.

4. Have A Bar Between Cabinets To Hang Clothes

Recreate this organized laundry room:

If you have a lot of clothing items that you like to hang dry, it can be really inconvenient to find a place to hang it in your home or lay it out to dry. If you get a tension rod pole like this one and hang it between your cabinets (or in another space in your laundry room) you will have the perfect designated place for air-drying your clothes!

The shelf they have above their washer and dryer looks mostly decorative, but this would be the perfect place to store detergent pods in jars and have functional items too!

5. Have Hooks To Hang Bags, Jackets, and more

Recreate this organized laundry room:

First of all, can I just say, this laundry room is stunning (and space-efficient too). This is more of a laundry room/mudroom setup. If it's something you have space for, you should definitely try to recreate it.

What I love most about this laundry room are the hooks to hang bags, jackets, dog leashes, whatever you need. I would love to have this in my laundry room and will definitely be putting this in future homes.

6. Store Your Large Cleaning Tools In a Closet In The Laundry Room

Recreate this organized laundry room:

As you can see, this is a great example of laundry room organization in a small space. This is in a kitchen, but they still managed to organize their cleaning supplies so well and utilize the space!

I wish I had this closet space in my apartment. I need a large cleaning tool closet for all of the mop, vacuum, iron things!

7. Store Laundry Supplies In Clear Glass Jars

Recreate this organized laundry room:

I am obsessed with these laundry room storage jars. I tried to recreate this in my laundry room and unfortunately, the glass jar fell and shattered while I was setting it up.

I always think about buying another one and filling it with clothespins or dryer sheets! This is a perfect example of functional decor that allows for storage but still looks beautiful!

8. Hang Mop Refills And Dusters On Hooks

Recreate this organized laundry room:

Well after reading this post you're going to want hooks all over your laundry room! I love the idea of hanging all of these reusable mop pads and other cleaning tools on a hook in the laundry room.

This keeps them accessible and organized! This is great because you could even get command hooks if you do not want to drill into the walls but still want the functionality!

9. Add A Shelving Unit For Storage & Hanging Clothes

Recreate this organized laundry room:

If you have room in your laundry room to add this shelving system, I would definitely say this is the way to go. This shelf has space for a large dirty clothes hamper, a place to hang dry clothes, multiple large storage baskets, decorative accents, and laundry products!

The more storage, the better. You really can't mess up with this perfect laundry room shelf!

10. Put A Cart Between The Washer And Dryer

Recreate this organized laundry room:

If you are super limited on space but have an annoyingly large gap between your washer and dryer, it might be smart of you to get some sort of skinny cart that fits between the two machines.

This is a perfect option with the baskets for storing detergent pods, dryer sheets, stain remover, or whatever you need! It looks like this was an IKEA rolling cart that they updated, how cool?!

11. Have Laundry Carts To Sort Clothes Before Washing

Recreate this organized laundry room:

First of all, the aesthetic of this laundry room is so good!! My favorite part has to be the canvas laundry carts though. These make it so much easier to separate your dirty laundry by colors, whites, darks, or whatever you want to organize by.

This saves you the hassle of sorting your laundry before putting it in the wash. I just bought a laundry hamper similar to this and I am obsessed!

12. Have A Designated Spot For Empty Laundry Baskets

Recreate this organized laundry room:

For some reason, nothing annoys me more than walking into the laundry room and tripping over plastic laundry baskets that were just left on the floor. I am obsessed with the idea of having a shelf specifically to store empty laundry baskets so they are not in your way! Maybe not the most efficient space-wise, but clutter-wise this will be your best friend!

13. Put Your Laundry Products Into Matching Containers

Recreate this organized laundry room:

Does anyone fall into deep cleaning and organizing TikTok sometimes and get the sudden urge to order a million jars on Amazon to put everything you own into? No? Just me?

Anyways, this TikTok is sooo satisfying and will definitely make you want to fully reorganize your laundry room. This process is known as "decanting" and you see it in all of the pretty pantries!

14. Utilize Open Counter Space As Much As Possible

Recreate this organized laundry room:

I know this is a luxury most of us can not relate to... But, if you have any sort of counter space, utilize it! Here, they have an open counter space that looks like a folding station, which is amazing.

You could also have a basket for lost socks, or a jar full of scent beads or detergent. Either way, if you're lucky enough to have counter space in your laundry room, don't let it get cluttered and unusable!

15. Organize Your Closets With Labeled Bins

Recreate this organized laundry room:

Would you look who it is! It's just me, and my pride and joy, my laundry room! I just recently finished organizing this laundry room space, and it might just be one of my favorite spaces in my whole apartment! I have room to store sooo much, and it looks dang good too!

I am lucky enough to have two storage closets in my laundry room, and you can see here how I organized one of them with these white bins. Such a game-changer!

This post was all about organized laundry room ideas.
