This post is all about fall door mats and how you can DIY your own fall doormat for under $15.
There is just something about fall that gets me so excited to decorate and sit in front of the fire. This is my first year in my own apartment (wohoo) so I can FINALLY decorate it for a season exactly how I want it.
I always like to have my entrance look cute since it's the first thing guests see when they come over. Plus, if they need help finding my apartment it's easier to give them directions.
There are so many cute fall door mats available that it is basically guaranteed that you can find one that you like. I rounded up all my favorites for this year plus I am showing you how I DIYed my own personal fall doormat.
I was finding a theme that door mats are expensive and wanted to save some cash so I was able to DIY this "hey pumpkins" doormat and it turned out so cute. Super easy too!!
This post shows you all the best fall door mats for this year plus how you can diy your own fall door mat for less than $15.

DIY Fall Door Mat:
I loved a ton of the fall doormats I was seeing, but I was also thinking a lot of "I could do that for half the price" thoughts.
I decided to give it a go and it was actually super fun. It cost me a fraction of the price if I would have had to buy it and overall I consider it a major win.
A girl messaged me on Instagram saying how fun she thought it would be to have a craft night with her girlfriends and do this...thought that was such a cute idea!
DIY Fall Doormat Supplies:
- Blank Door Mat
- Acrylic OR Flex Seal Paint (reader said flex seal paint lasts longer!)
- Foam Paint Brush
- Regular Paint Brush
- Painters Tape
The first thing you obviously need to is find yourself a blank door mat. If you're near an Ikea, this will be a piece of cake for you. Ikea sells them for $5 which is an amazing deal. I don't have an Ikea near me so I had to do some hunting. I ended up just ordering on Amazon but I could have got it cheaper somewhere else.
1. Lay Out Your Stencil
I got my stencil from Hobby Lobby and cut it apart so that I could individually lay out letters. This was the way to go and made everything way easier.
For exact instructions on this, make sure to watch my Youtube video on Fall Door Decorations.
I used painters tape to lock these letters down and the was a HUGE help. Definitely use painters tape to your advantage for your fall doormat.
1. Paint Onto Stencil
Okay, so the easiest way I found to do the painting was to blot it down the foam tool and then go back with a paintbrush. That gave it a really nice layer that ended up looking perfffeect.
I also taped each letter down individually and cut a piece of paper out that I used to make sure each letter was equally spaced.
Let dry and you're done!!
