PATRIOTIC COOKIES

Just two more days until it is one of my favorite days of the year- Fourth of July! Every year I make a pizza cookie (or cookie pizza; I spent a good minute or two deciding which way to order that) with strawberry and blueberries on top ordered like a flag. This year I decided to change it up a little and came up with the easiest cookies ever. Seriously these are so easy.
Ingredients:
-Pre-made sugar cookie dough (I just used the Nestle version)
-8 ounces of cream cheese
-1/4 cup of butter (unsalted)
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-3 cups of powdered sugar
-Your choosing of fruit (I just used strawberries)
Directions:
1. Cook the pre-made cookies according to their directions. If you use the Nestle version, I find the cookies come out best if you cut the dough into squares then roll into a ball with your fingers. I then went and flattened the rolled dough with the bottom of a cup. Once cooked, let the cookies cool off completely on a rack.
2. In a mixer, combine cream cheese and butter on medium speed for two minutes. Then add vanilla extract. Slowly, add in powdered sugar. If you think the icing needs more powdered sugar, add up to a cup more (so in total four cups). 
3.I used a disposable piping bag to put the frosting on the cookies because I think it looks better and is way easier.
4. Cut your fruit however you would like and place on top of cookie. 
Even though these cookies work perfectly for Fourth of July, I am planning on making them year round because of how good they are. Enjoy!
